Doula Services

A Doula provides physical, emotional, informational, and partner support for pregnant, birthing, and postpartum women & families. Numerous studies show that the presence of a Doula can dramatically improve the birth experience.

The help of a trained Doula at birth leads to:

– 50% fewer cesarean sections
– 60% less requests for epidurals
– 40% reduction in use of Pitocin
– First time moms’ labor averages two hours quicker!

You deserve compassionate support throughout your birth experience!

As your Doula and part of your birthing team, I will meet with you, or you and your partner to talk about your hopes, design a birth plan, answer questions and help identify any other needed resources. On the day of your birth each team member will have their own responsibilities; my only focus will be on you and your needs. I will be a calm presence and help to keep the flow and energy positive before, during and after your birth. My training and clinical experience, combined with my own birth experiences and the other births that I have had the honor of assisting with allow me to be a reassuring member of your birthing team. I proudly support families of all configurations, beliefs and birth plans.

Birth Doula services include:

• Initial Consultation
• Two prenatal home visits
• Unlimited email, text, and phone support
• 24/7 on-call availability from 38 weeks
• Continuous support during labor and birth
• Birth photography if desired
• One postpartum home visit

Birth Doula fee: $1000

Postpartum Doula

A postpartum Doula provides assistance and support during the transition of bringing home a new baby and adjusting the family’s routine. Adding a new small person to the household is a major change, and for new parents this can be an overwhelming time. A postpartum Doula can assist the newly expanded family in different ways including providing education, emotional support, and providing some respite from other daily chores so that you can focus more on your new role as a parent.

As your postpartum Doula the tasks I will assist you with will depend on your needs, but may include:

• Baby care
• Sibling care
• Breast/formula feeding support
• Emotional support
• Education for safe baby care
• Neck and foot rubs for mom
• Light housework or meal prep
• Walking/feeding pets
• Assistance in accessing outside resources

Postpartum Doula services: $30/hr.
